Conservation
The Whale Sanctuary Project is a large refuge in Nova Scotia (with new project sites opening across the globe) with its mission to provide proper care and to educate the public in safe ways. It will occupy over 100 acres of seascape and will allow these animals to dive, swim and experience a life more similar to the wild. There are plans to have a viewing area for the public, a respectful distance away, as well as an educational center with licensed scientists and marine biologists. It will help give orcas currently stuck in concrete cages better living conditions and ones that become injured in the wild a place to be weaned back to proper health and released once more.
