Habitation

This species of gecko is endemic to Madagascar. Their current habitat is limited to 16km^2 in the protected areas of Saint Luce Forest and the Ambatotsirongorongo (Smithsonian, 2021). 40% of the population is in Saint Luce and the other 60% is in Ambatotsirongorongo (IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, 2011). The Antanosy Day Gecko is typically found in littoral forest sections but can also be found in degraded forests with a dense canopy (Zoological Society of London, 2017).
