PROTECTING THE PALLID STURGEON

save the future of an ancient fish
About

pallid sturgeon

Scientific Name: SCAPHIRHYNCHUS ALBUS

An ancient and majestic species of fish that has inhabited the Mississippi and Missouri River Systems where they run through the United States in Iowa, Arkansas, Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Tennessee (Krentz, 2004) for millions of years.

Pallid Sturgeon are the largest freshwater fish in North America (Defenders of Wildlife, 2016). Unfortunately, their population is currently declining and the sturgeon have become endangered. These sturgeon survived the great extinction that wiped out the dinosaurs 78 million years ago (Defenders of Wildlife, 2016), however today they are in need of your help to survive!
