What is being done to protect Uma Inornata?

The Coachella valley preserve system of 1986 is a part of the lizards recovery plan. The preserve is a wildlife area and the only thing that is really helping protect the lizard. This is the last line of defense and is struggling at keeping the Uma Inornata safe. Some reasons for the lizard going endangered are: Companies wanting this lands sand, Festivals taking place, and People not respecting the land and understanding that there is an endangered species in the area. If these three things were not prevalent in the lizards ecosystem then it would have a much better chance of survival in the Coachella Valley. At this point in time to realistically save this lizard extreme means of restoration would have to be carried out to the Coachella Valley so that they would have enough sand and a safe environment in order to fully thrive. They would also need a lot more attention from the community so that something would be done, which is why it is important that we spread awareness about this lizard needing help!

The main problem for this lizard is people building roads and buildings across and within the Coachella Valley. There is now interruptions of the sand being blown which is detrimental for this lizard. Companies are making millions off of the sand they take from the Coachella Valley because of how popular sand is for construction of infrastructure.
