Santa Cruz Long-Toed Salamander, a local celebrity of santa cruz, whose dwindling populations threaten the entire county. They live in a limited range in central california, in a special combination of  of oak woodland, coastal chaparral, grassland, willow thickets and ephemeral ponds (CDFW, 2019). tHEY ARE CURRENTLY PROTECTED BY THE ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT, AND ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE Santa Cruz Long-toed Salamander Ecological Reserve.
