Government Recovery Plans.

The Pacific and Atlantic coasts have listed the green sea turtle as endangered. Below are links to the official recovery plans for the Pacific and Atlantic populations, as well as summaries of each plan's main goals.

  • Stop direct harvesting of the eggs 

  • Eliminate any threats of fibropapillomas

  • Determine the current population through looking at regular nesting beaches and in-water censuses

  • Create a conversation on the biologically viable management of the green sea turtle population

  • Identify and protect the nesting hot spots and increase the population over the next 25 years

  • Eliminate any further development near their habitat 

  • Control an of the non-native predators and hatchlings
