Save the giant Kangaroo rat!
You may recognize our furry friend from Disney’s, The Lost Desert, or from the circus in Coraline (Fostey, 1999). Their charisma and aesthetic value has gotten them recognition on the big screens. Although the Kangaroo Rat has an adorable significance in the film industry, it is even more
significant in the rich deserts that encapsulate the southwestern United States. But, as their land is stolen and altered to meet the needs of agriculture, energy, water, development and other
industries, they are being severely threatened. Their appearance alone won’t be enough to save
them from the highly profitable interests that drive their destruction.
