What Is Biodiversity

Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth. It includes all living things and the habitat they interact within.

 

Species Diversity

  - all species within a certain habitat or ecosystem

     - In this case, the orangutans and the other species that depend interact with each other to best survive in the only way they know how.

Genetic Diversity

  - the genetic differences among individual within a species

     - In this case, the orangutans, among other struggling species, may interbreed, ruining the genetic diversity due to that interbreeding... this is dangerous for orangutans because if diseases were to come they would most likely wipe out more than if orangutans could have different immunities. 

Why Is Biodiversity Important

We all depend on biodiversity... a loss of biodiversity leads to loss of services that are imperative to the functioning of our society.
